About the job

Zerofect is currently seeking for an experienced software developer to join its team in Switzerland (applicants in Switzerland will be prioritized) or Greece Athens physically, hybrid or remotely. Your main mission will be the design and development of a discrete event simulation tool for manufacturing systems optimization.

Your responsibilities in more details:

  • Collaborate with other team members for the capturing and documenting the different application requirements for the tools to develop

  • Design, develop, improve and maintain our software architecture, APIs, SDKs, and DBs

  • Build efficient, scalable, stable and reusable Python-based code

  • Contribute to the definition and implementation of industry best practices across the engineering team to ensure product quality (e.g. test automation, CI/CD, code review) and the smooth integration of different modules or services.

  • Give meaningful inputs regarding technology-related decisions.

  • Create documentation for the different applications and tools developed 

 

To be successful in your role, you must have the following qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of proven industry experience as a Software Engineer building, maintaining and operating services, in mid-to-large code bases, including at least 2 years in Python

  • Experience in discrete event simulation tools for simulating production systems and supply chain

  • Experience in software optimization for better performance

  • Experience with SQL databases

  • Experience with CI/CD, version control mechanisms and best practices (e.g. Github).

  • At least basic knowledge in GUIs design and implementation

 

To be even more successful, the nice-to-have qualifications are:

  • Understanding of the manufacturing domain and practical applications

  • Experience in mathematical optimization of production scheduling algorithms

  • Matlab knowledge

  • Experience in European research projects

  • French and/or German speaker.
